Outreach

A priest holding a gold cross and clasping hands with an elderly woman, both smiling and making eye contact outdoors with trees in the background.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,

I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing,

I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.

Matthew 25:35-36

At St. Andrew’s, we take Jesus’ words seriously. We meet Jesus in others. Our outreach extends beyond our own people and our own church building. There are many opportunities for service:

  • The Bridge at Trailhead Church, 2nd Thursdays, followed by dinner at Smokehouse at Steve’s.

  • American Red Cross - We host quarterly blood drives that regularly impact the lives of 30-60 people in need of blood. To schedule an appointment, click the link and enter Sponsor Keyword: StAndrews.

  • Benevolence Farm - We provide support to residents and alumni for continuing education, legal assistance, and moving expenses.

  • Haw River Elementary School - We support students and teachers in many ways, including school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, and medical debt relief.

  • Haw River Clean-Up - an annual clean-up day on a portion of the Haw River. Afterward, we go out to lunch.

  • Singing Rooster Coffee - served at the Sunday morning Coffee Hour. The program supports small coffee farmers in Haiti.

  • Christmas Cheer - We adopt several families and elderly neighbors to make their Christmas special.
